Europe Day Concert

Monday 9 May 2022 19:00 20:30
United Kingdom

The European Parliament Liaison Office in London has reserved 20 spaces for members of together.eu to celebrate Europe Day in London on May 9 2022. This year’s event will include a spectacular performance by The Chamber Orchestra of Europe (COE) during our annual Europe Day concert. We are thrilled to welcome you to Europe House once again for this incredible occasion!

Europe Day is a yearly celebration of peace and unity in Europe and marks the anniversary of the historic Schuman declaration. This special event is organised in collaboration with the EU Delegation to the UK.

Attendees from together.eu are invited to join us for the annual Europe Day Concert at St John’s, Smith Square. The programme includes a performance of the Mozart Clarinet Quintet, a soloist performance of Olivier Messiaen’s "Abîme des oiseaux" from Quatuor pour la fin du temps, as well as Antonin Dvořák's String Quintet No. 2. The orchestra will also play the Ukrainian national anthem as well as the European anthem, Beethoven Ode to Joy.

The Chamber Orchestra of Europe was founded in 1981 by a group of young musicians who became acquainted as part of the European Community Youth Orchestra (now EUYO). There are now about 60 members of the COE, who pursue parallel careers as principals or section leaders of nationally-based orchestras, as eminent chamber musicians, and as tutors of music.

The COE has strong links with many of the major festivals and concert halls in Europe. The COE works with all the major recording companies and, in nearly forty years, has recorded over 250 works and won numerous international awards, including three Gramophone Record of the Year awards and two Grammys. We are excited to welcome the COE for this year’s Europe Day event!

This event is now fully booked.

 Venue:  St John’s , 32 Smith Square, London , SW1P 3A England, United Kingdom

We look forward to seeing you there!

 Best wishes,
